CARE Learning Center -
About Our Foundation

OUR MISSION
CARE Learning Center is a 501(c)(3) organization.  We partner with the community to provide scholarships to individuals or families in need for the combination of counseling, referral, or educational services.

Services
Services include but are not limited to cognitive educational therapy, ADHD coaching, academic coaching, tutoring, counseling, psychological-educational assessments, ADHD assessments, and consulting.

Purpose
While academic challenges faced by students with known learning, developmental, or physical disabilities is common knowledge; there is little awareness of the impact emotional conditions such as anxiety and depression have on academic achievement and school behavior.

Unfortunately, because emotional conditions often present as a deliberate lack of effort or misbehavior; the serious underlying reasons for these problems go unrecognized.  Often, students are simply dismissed as unmotivated or academically incapable.

Combining educational interventions such as academic coaching, cognitive educational therapy, and tutoring with psychological interventions such as counseling can assist students in reaching their full academic potential.

Referrals
Referrals are made by school counselors, school psychologists, teachers, administrators, physicians, therapists, and psychiatrists.

Application Process
(non discriminatory, needs based, presenting issues)

Selection Process
The application including referrals and observations are reviewed and students are selected by a demonstrated need for services, not just limited to financial.
