About Our Foundation

OUR MISSION
CARE Learning Center & Psychological Services, a 501(c)(3) organization partners with the community to underwrite combining psycho-educational services so students with emotional conditions (such as anxiety or depression) that impact learning have the opportunity to reach their full academic potential.

Services
Psycho-educational services include but are not limited to the combination of cognitive educational therapy, academic coaching, tutoring, counseling, psychiatry, psycho-educational assessments, and ADHD assessments.

Purpose
While academic challenges faced by students with known learning, developmental, or physical disabilities is common knowledge; there is little awareness of the impact emotional conditions such as anxiety and depression have on academic achievement and school behavior.

Unfortunately, because emotional conditions often present as a deliberate lack of effort or misbehavior; the serious underlying reasons for these problems go unrecognized.  Often, students are simply dismissed as unmotivated or academically incapable.

Combining educational interventions such as academic coaching, cognitive educational therapy, and tutoring with psychological interventions such as counseling can assist students in reaching their full academic potential.

Referrals
Referrals are made by school counselors, school psychologists, teachers, administrators, physicians, therapists, and psychiatrists.

Application Process
(non discriminatory, needs based, presenting issues)

Selection Process
The application including referrals and observations are reviewed and students are selected by a demonstrated need for services, not just limited to financial.
